We've been in conversation with garden clubs and clients with green thumbs about the Floriade Expo 2022. What is the Floriade Festival? It's a once-in-a-decade phenomena celebrated in the Netherlands. The Floriade is one of the world’s premier horticultural events, providing a unique look behind the scenes of the international horticultural sector. Countries and cities from five continents will present themselves in beautiful pavilions and iconic buildings - with surprising attractions and delightful international and local products. Guests will have an opportunity to explore 148 acres of ground and discover numerous gardens filled with coniferous and deciduous trees, hedges and grasses, flowers, fruit trees and aquatic plants. Visitors will see, taste, smell and feel the contribution made by plants to creating a healthier world.

​The theme this year will be on a sustainable future. Running from April 14 to October 9, 2022, the 7th International Horticultural Exhibition Floriade Expo takes place in Almere, about 30 minutes from Amsterdam, at the massive park, where a celebration of green and sustainable technology will be the focus. New technologies for greenery, food, energy and health will be shown off at this living laboratory and will contribute to Floriade’s four sub-themes: Greening the City, Feeding the City, Healthying the City and Energizing the City. Inspiring gardens, lectures and exhibitions will be mixed with impressive attractions. Green bridges and a cable car will provide some of the modes of transport while live music and a range of dining options will tickle multiple senses.

​The Floriade Expo, known as the International Horticultural Expo, is the largest public event in the Netherlands , described as “the greenest day out” and is truly a feast for the senses. A river cruise is an ideal way for garden-lovers to combine the Floriade Expo, the Keukenhof Gardens in April and May, and the Palace of Het Loo on Holland itineraries in 2022.
